"House of the Rising Sun" Giclee print by Dana Forrester
The newest black C8 that I've completed bears the title of the bar and grill where it's parked - "The House of the Rising Sun." The reflections of the sky on the car's paint are amazing in the photo. While I was beginning that painting, my iPod played the old song from 1965, so I changed the background and created a new brick sign using that title as the name of the bar. I've not done many images that include Pepsi-Cola or Schlitz Beer, which is the hidden sign painted beneath the Pepsi sign. The hidden portion of the beer sign on the right shows its slogan: "The Beer that Made Milwaukee Famous." There are three cola cans and two empty bottles in the painting. - Dana Forrester
